Steve McManimen, PE
General Manager, Carolinas Projects & Automation
Steve is the general manager of North and South Carolina mechanical projects, design/build, and automation divisions. His responsibilities include P&L oversight and management of project engineers, project managers, and sales personnel. Other responsibilities include estimating, estimate review, and client retention. Steve also personally manages several key accounts and is tasked with the overseeing of business sales growth in these areas.
Steve positions EMCOR Services Aircond to serve customers with the best solutions attainable through his HVAC experiences and knowledge of current HVAC products and controls systems.
Working with all company resources, customers are served by his team of sales professionals who are trained to supply and sell the optimum system solutions to our customers. As a member of the Aircond leadership team, Steve actively participates in the overall strategic direction of the company.
Steve has over 29 years of HVAC and building automation experience. He began his career in 1984 with a privately owned Carrier branch, as a commercial sales engineer. From 1986 to 2007, Steve started the Carrier controls division for North Carolina. He held several other positions within Carrier Corporation including commercial sales manager for western North Carolina. Prior to joining Aircond, Steve spent two years with a large national mechanical/industrial contractor as the Charlotte office vice president of engineering. He began his career with Aircond as a project sales engineer in 2009.
Steve graduated from UNC Charlotte with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. He also completed various training courses through Carrier Corporation’s engineering training programs. Steve earned his NC PE license in the mechanical discipline and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED AP. Over the years, he also held several committee chair positions for the Charlotte chapter of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
The Personal Side
Steve resides in Harrisburg, NC with his wife, two daughters, and son. He enjoys spending time with his family, working around the house and in the yard, and restoring cars. Steve is also an active member in Backcreek Presbyterian Church.
